Tam Hua is a Melbourne-based artist.

After completing tertiary training and establishing an eponymous label as a clothing designer, Hua’s fine art practice has developed via a steady diversion away from the commercial aspects of fashion, towards a more personal exploration of form and femininity. Her interests and areas of research include human behaviour and sociology, sexuality and gender, evolution, the heavens, black holes, supernovas and the idea of life as a ‘vibrating string’.

Hua relishes the physical aspect of making, and continues to develop her skills working with three dimensions, as well as producing series on paper – drawing, painting, sculpting, moulding, cutting, collage, layering, deconstructing and rebuilding.
